Reducing Infrastructure Costs while Expanding Capabilities

eDI's corporate SaaS offering leverages existing capital investments, provides additional litigation support staff, centralizes review management, and reduces litigation costs.

CASE STUDY

A corporation found itself embroiled in several legal matters. Administering to these cases required more resources and technology than the corporation maintained in-house. In the past, the corporation had to turn over project management to outside counsel, as a result of its limited litigation support resources.

The litigation team also needed to use review databases in formats that all members could access. End users of the database software applications were located around the world, requiring access from anywhere at any time. However, the corporation did not have the infrastructure to provide access to the review databases for parties outside the firm.

The corporation sought a solution that would allow it to take control of its cases. The corporation placed a priority on:

  1. effectively managing multiple projects without having to expand internal resources, and
  2. individually addressing the review specifications and circumstances unique to each project.

THE eDI SaaS SOLUTION

Utilizing eDI's SaaS offering provided the corporation with access to a wide array of standard litigation support tools and database review applications. The corporation quickly gained the ability to manage its stored data and maintain project control, while obtaining the advantage of remote access from all locations.

After examining the corporation's needs and capabilities, eDI identified that most end users had experience with "Concordance" software. Through the SaaS offering, eDI provided the Concordance application, enabling the firm to administer the software and to maintain control of the review process. eDI also provided training to the parties not familiar with Concordance.

Using eManage, eDI's custom Web-based navigation site, the corporation reclaimed project management control from outside counsel. The secure and adaptable eManage platform provided the corporation with the ability to organize and centralize all aspects of its multiple projects, including: project creation, vendor management, issue tracking, user account management, and review-team management. eManage provided the focal point for the entire scope of each of the corporation's projects -from high-level overviews down to item-level details and real-time status reporting.

CASE RESULT

The SaaS offering enabled the corporation to maintain total project control, utilize a software application familiar to its litigation team, and provide worldwide access to all parties through Web hosting. These benefits occurred with no front-end requirement on the part of the corporation to expand its network-all while substantially reducing its overall network infrastructure costs.
